Our passion is sharing our story with the upcoming generations with the hope of inspiring them to believe in their dreams & to find courage to talk about it & then fearlessly chase it. Since 2016 we have been taking our film ‘You and Me’ to High Schools (Grades 9-12) around Australia. We have also since released a book ‘The Essence of You and Me’ a deeper dive into our stories & the lessons we have learnt along the way.
In 2021 we will be travelling Australia in our new Jayco Mercedes Sprinter 4×4 Campervan with our two bulldogs Byrdie & Bowie. We will be looking for speaking & performance opportunities along the way. Follow In Search of You and Me for where we are heading.
Please stay tuned for up and coming speaking events.
We’ve been lucky enough to have been involved in some incredible events in the past.
Stay tuned for more.
Having had the chance to speak at some wonderful locations we have received amazing feedback along the way.
In my 20 years of teaching, I can honestly say that having Kate and Barney come to visit our school was one of the most rewarding experiences of my career. Their movie, ‘You and Me’, has a variety of messages and resonates with the students on many different levels which is difficult to replicate in a classroom environment. The connection from watching the movie to having Barney and Kate in the room, made the experience that much more authentic. I look forward to having Barney and Kate back at school every couple of years because I think their story is one that can inspire students and help them to achieve their dreams.

The Senior College students recently had the privileged opportunity to meet Barney Miller and his wife, Kate. The students initially viewed Barney and Kate’s recent film “You and Me” which follows their life changing story – This was followed by Q&A time at the conclusion of the movie. Barney and Kate then gave the students an opportunity to connect with their story throughout lunch time providing a more individual and personal time to interact and ask more questions.
Our students were deeply moved by the presentation that highlighted that tragic events can happen to anyone at any time.
Comments referring to the presentation from students to teachers in the days following have been incredibly moving confirming it was worthy and appropriate for the Seniors Crossroads Program.
